Denise is passionate about the impact of education and training on quality improvement in healthcare. As someone who has required community-based healthcare services for loved ones, she understands the importance of high-quality care and services.
Denise personally experienced how education and training can transform an individual’s life and the lives of those they touch. Denise has been working as an educator in community-based healthcare for nearly a decade. She greatly enjoys creating learning experiences that engage learners and teach real-time skills that can be immediately applied on the job. Her master’s degree in adult learning has allowed her to work on the development of workshops and e-learning for healthcare professionals, focused training for community members, and as an adjunct professor working with first-time college students. In her role at CFE, she helps craft meaningful learning experiences and oversees the operation of the department.
She is quite the adventurer; she loves learning new things and doesn’t believe in having a “comfort zone.” She has a need for sunshine, which is why she migrated south from Seattle to Oregon and finally to her home in Phoenix.
Bobbie found her calling in community-based nursing over 25 years ago after working various roles in direct patient care and administrative positions in Home Health, Hospice, and Private Duty.
Bobbie began her career at CHAP more than 12 years ago. She started as a Site Visitor and held that role for over six years. From there, she worked as a Senior Accreditation Manager and was promptly promoted to Director of Accreditation. In March of 2020, Bobbie began her current position as Director of Education. She is now responsible for the development of educational content as well as facilitation of workshops and training. Bobbie is an expert facilitator and is especially knowledgeable on the topic of quality improvement, emergency planning, compliance with the CMS Conditions on Participation and the CHAP survey process.
A fun fact about Bobbie is that unlike many people, she loves change and variety. Changes in her work environment, changes in where she lives (9 states and 14 different homes), changes in her exercise routine and craft projects. The one area she has not wanted change is in her marriage. She has been married to her husband for 43 years and she plans to keep him around!
